To show up on this map, include a location tag in a packet beacon. The location tag can be part of a larger string of text. It does not need to be in a beacon on its own. Node markers gray out on the map after 7 days from the last heard packet, and disappear after 2 weeks.
Example (with and without node name): <MAP:38.5795,-121.4934,KK6SEN> <MAP:38.5795,-121.4934,KK6SEN,AUBNOD>
Only use your own callsign and your own node name. If you do not have a separate node name, use the first example and only send your callsign. The node name is the exact name someone would use to connect to your node if it differs from your callsign.
Your beacon with the tag must be heard by the AUBNOD digipeater on 145.050 MHz. The AUBNOD node hears the KBANN node the best. If KBANN repeats your packet with the tag, the AUBNOD node will hear it and you will appear on the map. The update should be quick — about 30–60 seconds.
Reading the Map
Active nodes (heard within the last 7 days) show as green pins with callsign labels. Stale nodes (7 days–2 weeks) appear as gray pins. Nodes not heard for over 2 weeks are hidden from the map but still visible in the sidebar. Click a pin or a sidebar entry to zoom to its location.
Finding Nodes
Use the search box in the top-right corner to find a node by name or callsign. Press Enter to search — the map will zoom to the first match and show the result count.
Automatic Updates
Node positions and the sidebar refresh every 30 seconds. The connection status (green dot = online) and current zoom level are shown at the top and bottom of the page.
